<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work fixing device to reliably fix the edge part of a work such as a printed wiring board onto a stage, to provide a method for positioning the device, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the work fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: The work fixing device 10 comprises a pushing section 14 which pushes the upper face of the edge part of the work 200 sucked to a stage 110 and hermetically seals the edge, and an opening 12 to expose the area of the work 200 except for the edge part. The work fixing device 10 is positioned and placed on the stage 110 by a positioning member 26 for the work 200.
