The invention relates to a method for producing sandwich components comprisi ng an open core structure (2) and cover layers (1, 3) that are applied to both sides, said layers (1, 3) being formed using a curable plastic material and the sandwich component being cured under pressure in a closed device. According to the invention, a filling gas, in particular nitrogen or air, is introduced into the core structure (2) prior to the at least partial solidification of the cover layers (1,3) and a filling gas pressure pFilling gas is selected that is less than or equal to the working pressure p Working of the closed device, notably to prevent to a great extent the formation of sink marks in the cover layers (1, 3).
