Power distribution panel with modular inserts

A power distribution panel (10) that allows individual circuits to be accessed for repair or maintenance without removing all circuits of the panel from service is disclosed. The panel has a chassis including a pair of opposing sides (32), each having a flange (36) to allow the chassis to be mounted to a rack. The opposing sides define an interior with first and second openings, and the second opening is located in a rear face of the chassis. There are first and second modules (16), each having a power input terminal (22) connected to a number of power output terminals (24), and a circuit protection device (12). Each module is configured to be received through the first opening of the chassis and removably mounted within the interior. The power input and output terminals are all accessible through the second opening, and the circuit protection devices are accessible through the first opening. Each module includes an alarm circuit, and an alarm circuit connector that is accessible through the rear face.
