<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing ink having good solubility, excellent gloss and also being friendly to the environment. <P>SOLUTION: A reaction product composition is produced by reacting an animal/plant oil or its fatty acid monoester, (of a monohydroxy alcohol) with anα,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, followed by the esterification with a monohydroxy alcohol. The reaction product composition wherein the animal/plant oil is a recycled oil and the reaction product composition wherein the animal/plant oils is a soybean oil, a linseed oil or a tung oil are also provided. A printing ink containing 0.1-50 wt.% of the composition and the printing ink containing 1-50 wt.% of a rosin phenol resin and/or 1-50 wt.% of a rosin alkyd resin and/or 1-50 wt.% of a petroleum resin alkyd are provided.
