PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge that allows a user to replace only an ink tank part without disposing an information storage means such as an IC chip when replacing an ink cartridge, can be disposed as general waste while reducing a waste amount, and also, enables the user to visually recognize a residual amount of ink. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge is composed of a casing 1, which is adapted for a carriage of an ink-jet recording device and provided with the information storage means 15 such as the IC chip, and the ink tank 30 fitted freely attachably/detachably to/from the casing 1. Most of the parts of the ink tank 30 are set to a size storable in the casing 1. The ink tank 30 is provided with a mounting lever 32 as a mounting engaging part to the carriage. The mounting lever 32 as the mounting engaging part and an ink supply tube part 31 are composed so as to protrude outside the casing 1 under the condition of storing the ink tank 30 in the casing 1.
