PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a porous ceramic structure by which the occurrence of crack in firing is prevented without decreasing the rate of heating in a burning zone of a pore forming material or lowering the concentration of oxygen in a firing atmosphere. SOLUTION: The porous ceramic structure is manufactured by burning a molding containing ceramic particles and combustible powder to become the pore forming material and destructing the combustible powder by fire. The heating value of the combustible powder determined by a differential thermal analysis is 0-35μV×min/mg. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
