PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control estimation of throttle downstream pressure, cylinder pressure and intake air quantity at a time of intake air valve closing of a cylinder prior to crank angle by timing of fuel injection start. SOLUTION: This device controls an internal combustion engine for a multiple throttle system having intake air quantity control means 1 provided on independent intake pipes with one end communicating with an intake valve 3 of each cylinder of the internal combustion engine and with other end communicating with a collecting part of each cylinder respectively. The device includes two intake air quantity estimation model of an intake valve closed model modeling an intake air passage from an upstream of the intake air quantity control means 1 to the intake valve 3 and an intake valve open model modeling the intake air passage from the upstream of the intake air quantity control means 1 to an inside of the cylinder with considering volume change, and estimates cylinder pressure at a time of complete intake valve closing and intake air quantity sucked in the cylinder by timing of fuel injection start with using upstream pressure and downstream pressure and flow passage area of the intake air quantity control means, internal combustion engine rotation speed, cylinder volume, and intake air temperature.
