An optical disk device in which, even if layered two disks are inserted into the device, the disks can be removed without causing damage to the disks and the device. When the layered two optical disks (12) are forcibly tried to be inserted into the device, the insertion is prevented by cooperation between a stationary guide section (41) and a thickness limiting section (43). When the layered two optical disks (12) are pulled out, the thickness limiting section (43) is pivoted to a pull-out direction, so that the two optical disks (12) can be easily taken out without damage to the optical disks (12) and the optical disk device (10).
