PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing utensil, which can prevent also out-of-fix writing lines from developing under the condition that the direct flow and blowing-out of ink are surely prevented from developing even under considerably severe conditions as compared with normal use states such as environments in an air craft or under intense temperature change or the like. SOLUTION: In the writing utensil 10 comprising a dividing part 29 nearly dividing a barrel 13 into a collector receiving part 14 in its former half and an ink housing part 15 in its latter half, a snorkel 30, which can vent between the former and the latter halves, an ink inducing part 18 which induces ink 12 by capillary force to a pen point 11 and a collector 17 having a plurality of ink reserving grooves 23 on its outer periphery, a clearance C defined by ((B-A)/2) is at least 2.3% of the diameter B, wherein let A be the outer diameter of the collector 17 locating nearer the rear end of the collector 17 and near a vapor-liquid exchanging part 28 existing interfaces, through which the air and the ink 12 are replaced with each other, under the condition that the ink 12 is reserved in the ink reserving grooves 23 and let B be the inner diameter of the barrel 13.
