PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interference detection system for a machine tool not requiring the reinput of a projection length of a tool even if the projection length of the tool changes according to a setup change. SOLUTION: This interference detection system comprises a model database 11, a model data registration processing part 12, a setup data processing part 13, an interference data storage part 14, an interference data registration processing part 15, an interference confirmation processing part 16, an image data generation part 17 and a display control part 18 loaded in a controller 20 of the machine tool, and an image display device 19. Though a user registers three-dimensional model data of the tool, and a work or the like through the model data registration processing part 12, the projection length of the tool is calculated on the basis of an updated tool offset amount at a time point when the tool offset amount is updated while the setup data processing part 13 always monitors the tool offset amount stored in an offset amount storage part 24, and automatically registered in the model database 11.
