PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail for temporary scaffold which can be easily applied to various kinds of components required when assembling a scaffold in temporary work. SOLUTION: Couplers 32 to be connected to a component of a scaffold handrail constituting a scaffold for temporary work are attached to both the ends of a handrail main body 31 in its length direction; each of these couplers 32 comprises a base member 35 having a first chipped portion and a floatable member 38 formed with a second chipped portion to the base material in such a manner that the first chipped portion can be opened and closed; a socket 50 opened almost to a circle corresponding to a sectional shape of various kinds of components of the scaffold in temporary work is provided with the first chipped portion and the second chipped portion when the floatable member 38 is floated with respect to the base member 35 in such a manner that the first chipped portion can be closed; and the coupler can be connected to each of said components of the scaffold for temporary work by inserting the components to corresponding sockets 50.
