<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device preventing an occupant from being thrown out to the outside of a vehicle, and to prevent the occupant from being injured. <P>SOLUTION: An occupant sitting on a seat of the vehicle is positively moved to a protection area and constrained by a support part of a protection member and the seat, and thereby, the throw-out of the occupant to the outside of the vehicle can be prevented. Further, a clearance of the support part and the head of the occupant is made to a constant amount or less or the head is abutted on the support part and synchronized with the motion of the vehicle in roll over, and thereby, an input of the impact can be reduced.
