PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner, enabling a user to accurately understand an operation content by complementation of acoustic sense and visual sense, and enabling the user, even if he/she is a visually handicapped person or acoustically-impaired person, to understand the operation content either by acoustic sense or by visual sense by reporting the operation content by voice by a report means provided on a main body and also switchingly displaying the operation content by a display part provided on a remote control device according to the voice. SOLUTION: The air conditioner comprises the main body 1 provided with the report means consisting of a speaker for reporting the operation content by voice, and the remote control device 9 provided with the display part b11 switchingly displaying the operation content. The operation content is reported by voice from the main body by operating an operation part 12 of the remote control device 9, and the operation content matched to the reporting sound is switchingly displayed on the display part a11.
