The sensor has ultrasonic transducers (A, B) for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic signals (2a, 2b). Series resistors (8a, 8b) are provided for measuring electrical operating parameters of the ultrasonic transducers, where the operating parameters are measured during the transmitting operation of the transducers. An evaluation electronic circuit (6) is connected with the series resistors, and determines a correction parameter from the measured parameters for compensating drift of the ultrasonic-flow sensor. An independent claim is also included for a method for compensating a drift of an ultrasonic-flow sensor.
