<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly verstatile print system with a host device and a printer for efficiently operating proper control corresponding to the performance of each device. <P>SOLUTION: This print system is provided with a host device which makes a print request and a printer for performing print according to the print request, and the host device and the printer are respectively provided with any of the plurality of levels uniformly determined according to functions. Communication is established between the host device and the printer, and the level of the host device is compared with the level of the printer, and when the both levels are same, they operate in the level, and when those levels are different, they operate in the lower level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
