The method involves mounting a component e.g. socket, on a production piece (1) e.g. seat unit, and providing the mounted component or the production piece with coatings (4) e.g. lacquer, after mounting. The mounted component or the production piece is provided with identification components e.g. fluorescence particles. The component is identified with an identification unit by the identification components. An error message is generated with the failure of identification of the component.
