PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device which is capable of discharging a warning sound outward even while it is placed in a closed state. SOLUTION: A portable telephone set 1 includes a receiver housing 2 having a projecting portion 18 in one end and a transmitter housing 3 having a recessed portion 19 to which the projecting portion 18 is fitted, in one end and incorporating a speaker 25 for notification. In the portable telephone set 1, the projecting portion 18 is linked into the recessed portion 19 so as to be turned, so that the receiver housing 2 and the transmitter housing 3 are configured to be opened and closed. A crest plane 18c of the projecting portion 18 is positioned inside rather than a plane including the back opposed to a counter face of the transmitter housing 3 in the closed state of the portable telephone set 1, there is a space between the projecting portion 18 and the recessed portion 19, and sound discharging pores 9k for discharging sound from the speaker 25 for notification are provided on a recessed portion wall surface 19b forming that space.
