PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent vibration of electric wiring by solving a problem wherein the electric wiring swings, and improve maintenance property of an electric part by solving a problem wherein the maintenance property of the electric part is bad. SOLUTION: In this general purpose engine constituted by arranging auxiliary machinery including a fuel tank 37, an air cleaner 35, and a muffler 40 on an upper face of a cylinder block 15 of the engine 10 and letting harness (electric wiring) 151 to 156 for wiring in the electric parts including a power generator 46 and a main switch 102 pass around the cylinder block 15, connectors 161 to 166 for connecting the harness (electric wiring) 151 to 156 mutually are provided in the harness (electric wiring) 151 to 156, a box body 104 for storing the harness (electric wiring) 151 to 156 is provided on a cylinder block 15 side, and the harness (electric wiring) 151 to 156 are mutually connected in the box body 104.
