PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin coated metal sheet for a container constituted so as to ensure the excellent taking-out properties of a low fat and high protein content and equipped with various characteristics required in container processing. SOLUTION: The resin coated metal sheet for the container has resin layers on both sides thereof, and the surface free energy with water on the surface of the resin layer which becomes the inner surface side of the container after the metal sheet is molded into the container is 20 mN/m or below. At this time, the resin layer becoming the inner surface side of the container after the container is molded preferably contains polyester as a main component. Further, the surface of the resin layer becoming the inner surface side of the container after the container is molded has a hydrophilic group or is coated with a hydrophilic polymer, or the resin layer preferably contains at least one of an ionic surfactant, a non-ionic surfactant or an amphoteric surfactant.
