PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paddy working machine capable of measuring the distance between a levee and the machine body using the identical space marker at positions in front of and in the transverse direction of the machine body, and equipped with the detachable and inexpensive space marker. SOLUTION: The paddy working machine has the following construction: In a farm, the space marker 61 is served as a sideward levee marker to be projected sideways of the machine body for the onset of planting with a space corresponding to a single butt stroke, doubling as a forward levee marker to be projected forward of the machine body as a measure of the onset of the machine's turning at the edge of a levee. The space marker 61 can be housed, in a contracted condition, within the longitudinal width of a seedling frame 6 inside thereof, and the space marker, extended as appropriate by turning the seedling frame 6, can also be turned sideways and forward of the machine body.
