<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device raising temperature of exhaust gas and supplying unburned fuel to the exhaust emission control device even when an internal combustion engine is in a low load operation. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device of the diesel engine 1 comprises fuel injection valves 4a-4d on respective cylinders of the multi-cylinder diesel engine 1 having the cylinder #1-#4 and supplies the unburned fuel to an exhaust purifying member 25 provided downstream of exhaust passages 18, 19 through the fuel injection valves. The exhaust emission control device of the diesel engine 1 supplies the unburned fuel from the cylinder #4, injects fuel so that generated torque of the cylinder is reduced and increases fuel injection quantities at the cylinders #1-#3 to compensate the reduction of generated torque at the cylinder #4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
