PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information transmitter and a receiver which prevents the radio interference of a signal transmitted by the information transmitter with other signals while suppressing the power consumption of the information transmitter. SOLUTION: In the information transmitter, a memory 109 stores areas, FM broadcast frequencies showing frequencies of broadcast signals receivable by FM broadcast receivers 200 at the areas, and adjacent areas to the areas by making these areas relate to one another. An FM transmitter controller 112 selects one area involving a present position shown by position information from the memory 109, reads the FM broadcast frequency related to the area and the adjacent areas out of the memory 109, selects one area shown by the adjacent areas from the memory 109, and reads the FM broadcast frequency 109b related to the selected area out of the memory 109. The FM transmitter controller 112 specifies a transmission frequency different from the read frequency in an FM broadcast frequency band receivable by the FM broadcast receiver 200.
