PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system capable of monitoring important monitoring areas at a low cost. SOLUTION: The monitoring system is provided with: a first imaging part for imaging a moving image of a first monitoring area; a second imaging part for imaging a moving image of a second monitoring area adjacent to the first monitoring area synchronously with the imaging operation of the first monitoring area by the first imaging part; a composite image generation part for generating a composite image by adjusting the composite position of first and second frame images constituting moving images respectively imaged by the first and second imaging parts on the basis of relative positional relation between the first monitoring area imaged by the first imaging part and the second monitoring area imaged by the second imaging part; and a moving image storage part for storing the composite image generated by the composite image generation part as a frame image constituting a moving image of a partial monitoring area including at least a part of the first and second monitoring areas.
