PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an O-ring arranged at the connection part of an optical adaptor with an insertion part from being detached suddenly in the optical adaptor which is detachably provided at the distal end part of an insertion part inserted to the lumen of an endoscopic object for observing or photographing the endoscopic object. SOLUTION: In the optical adapter 41, an annular groove part 61 for mounting the O-ring 59 inserted and held with the distal end part 27 of the insertion part 3 is formed on an outer surface of the side of the proximal end 43a of an adapter main body 43 which can be inserted to the distal end part 27 of the insertion part 3, and the annular groove part 61 is covered with an annular covering member 47 fitted to the adapter main body 43.
