The present invention relates to an interconnecting arrangement and method for enabling a user of a third party controlled data communication system to access a number of subsystems. It comprises interconnecting serving means (RPS;4) bridging the third party controlled data communication system and the subsystems, such that the user of the third party controlled data communication network communicates with the interconnecting serving means (RPS;4). Said interconnecting serving means (RPS;4) communicates with said subsystems. Logon serving means (GLS;5) are provided handling logging in to a number of subsystems, e.g. subsystems and communicating with an interconnecting protected user directory server (GUD;6) keeping user information. Using said information a user is given/denied access to a number of subsystems. Corresponding to global or generic authentication system specific authentication is provided through the subsystems which reuse the objects used by the logon serving means (GLS;5).
