PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparing a toner by which toner particle size is freely regulated and a narrow particle size distribution can be obtained, and a toner prepared using the method. SOLUTION: The method of preparing a toner includes: preparing a toner composition including a macromonomer having a hydrophilic group, a hydrophobic group and at least one reactive functional group, at least one polymerizable monomer and a colorant; emulsion-polymerizing the toner composition in a medium to prepare a polymerized toner; and separating and drying the polymerized toner.
