An LCD is provided to delay the flowing of liquid crystals to ensure the time for hardening an unhardened sealant, thereby preventing the contact between the unhardened sealant and the liquid crystals, by obliquely forming a black matrix to increase the volume of a space, which is to be filled with the liquid crystals. An LCD panel comprises an upper substrate(110), a black matrix(112) formed on one surface of the upper substrate, a lower substrate(120) facing the upper substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. A sealant(140) seals the liquid crystal layer between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. A display area and a non-display area are defined with respect to the LCD panel. The black matrix is obliquely inclined to the sealant side from the display area, thereby making a cell gap of the display area larger than a cell gap of the sealant side. |
