A dual mode terminal having a communication module controlled by a message, communication system for communicating with a dual mode terminal, and method for controlling a dual mode terminal are disclosed. In a dual mode terminal capable of communicating with a cellular network and a supplementary service network, and wherein the cellular network communicates with the supplementary service network, the present invention includes a first communication module providing a control signal to activate a second communication module for communicating with the supplementary service network responsive to a first message received from the cellular network. While inactive, the second communications module does not consume power nor interfere with communications of the first communications module. |
