#CMT# #/CMT# The prosthesis has a prosthetic head (12) in spherical shape, and a tapered central cavity (13) provided in the head. A ring (11) is extended by a cylindrical collarette and comprises an inner surface (14) delimited by a cylinder of diameter corresponding to a diameter of a cylindrical section of a femoral neck. An external surface of the ring is delimited by a tapered part (15), whose shape is complementary to that of the central cavity. The depth of the central cavity is less than the height of the tapered part. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for replacing a damaged cartilage or bone part of a femur. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The presence of the collarette increases a support surface of the ring on the cylindrical section prepared on the femoral neck and femoral head. The prosthesis has reduced encumbrance, and limits the bone loss as well as tilting risks. The depth of the central cavity is less than the height of the tapered part, thus ensuring perfect fitting of the prosthetic head on the ring. The prosthetic head can be of different diameters, so that the prosthetic head is adapted to all patients.
