PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved method for bladder-prostate segmentation.

SOLUTION: The method for segmenting a first structure and a second structure from image data comprises: forming an energy function E=f(Edata, Ecoupling) wherein Edatarepresents a possible segmentation based on the first structure and the second structure and Ecouplingrepresents a degree of overlap between the first structure and the second structure; and minimizing the energy function.
