The method involves adjusting rotational speed and/or drive torque of a drive motor (1) to a specific value. A maximum vehicle acceleration is induced in an acceleration phase, where a positive wheel moment is transferred on a road surface. A parking brake function is automatically activated in a set-up phase. The speed and/or the drive torque are adjusted to an upper threshold value. The threshold value is dependent on a characteristic value of a torque transmission unit (3), which is arranged between the motor and an automatic transmission (2).
