PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and imaging apparatus whose sensitivity can be adjusted without optically deteriorating the resolution of image information. SOLUTION: Charged particle migration layers 3 are formed, one for one pixel, so as to cover a light receiver 1 of each pixel and other portion than the light receiver 2 including an interconnection or a circuit. In the charged particle migration layers 3, a migration liquid having a light transmitting property and an insulating property and charged particles having a light blocking property are encapsulated. Each of the charged particle migration layers 3 is connected to a pair of migration electrodes 4a and 4b. The minimum unit for the resolution of image information is one pixel, and so the resolution of the image information never deteriorates less than one pixel. Therefore, the sensitivity can be adjusted without causing any optical deterioration of the resolution of the image information. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
