<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering system which prevents a steering wheel from rotating backward by tire reaction force when steering assistance stops. <P>SOLUTION: The power steering device is provided with: an electric motor installed between the steering wheel and a turning wheel to apply the steering assistance force to the turning wheel; a steering load detection means to detect the steering load of the steering wheel; a battery to supply electric power to the electric motor, an electric source voltage detection means to detect or estimate the voltage of the battery; and an electric motor control means to control the electric motor responding to the steering load and to apply an electric brake by applying a regenerative current to the electric motor when the voltage of the battery is not greater than the predetermined value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
