<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniform and beautifully designed two-dimensional code generation method and reading method, and executable programs that can display digital information in the high density and read the digital information quickly and accurately in various conditions. <P>SOLUTION: Positioning marks to be displayed as references of the position of a two-dimensional code are displayed in an image pattern having the same shape and size as data marks representing digital information, with a plurality of superposed color components used to display the data marks.
