The insulating device (1) comprises a sleeve (1a) with a counter thread which is used to cover at least one section of a thread (6) which forms the surface area of the workpiece (2) which is to be insulated. The sleeve can be screwed onto the workpiece with a minimum tightening torque. The sleeve can be made from stainless steel, a steel coated with copper, aluminium or nickel or from titanium and its base alloys.
