<p>A flexible hose (2) having an end connection fitting (4) capable of withstanding high pressures and high end loads comprises a nipple (6) having a stop ring (12) on its outer periphery and a plurality of protuberances (16, 22) between the stop ring (12) and the rear end of the nipple. A substantially tubular inner hose portion (34) overlies the nipple (6), abuts the stop ring (12) and extends away from the rear end of the nipple (6). A plurality of lays (38, 40) of spirally wound reinforcing wires overlie the inner portion of rubber (34) and abut the stop ring (12). A sleeve (44) overlies the nipple and is spaced therefrom. The inner periphery of the nipple (6) has a roughened surface. A substantially tubular outer portion (60) of an elastomer abuts the rear of the sleeve and overlies the reinforcing wires (38, 40) outside of the sleeve (44). A synthetic resin (62) permeates the space between the wires and fills the space between the inner periphery of the sleeve and the inner portion of elastomer.</p> |
