<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect/recognize an object at a place with sharp difference in illuminance using visible light with high precision and to report its result. <P>SOLUTION: Image data picked up by a video camera 200 is converted into digital image data by a video capture part 104, a high luminance part is detected and a light shielding mask pattern is generated. Next, deterioration of image quality is prevented and an image which makes image processing after that possible is photographed with a video camera 201 by masking a high luminance part. A CPU 100 detects the outer shape from a picked up image by image processing and extracts candidates for an object which can be an object in the image. When the object detected and segmented from the whole picture can be recognized, its output message is outputted from an external AV output device 300. Three-dimensional distance calculation is performed by finding corresponding points, corresponding segments and corresponding areas from right and left images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
