The clock has a striking mechanism e.g. bell, accommodated in a housing (1). An opening (45) is provided in a wall of the housing. A control organ closes the opening. The organ is controlled by the striking mechanism so that the opening is automatically closed after striking is ended. Another control organ is manually controlled from outside of the housing so that the opening is opened before starting of the striking. The latter organ slides on outer circumference of the housing. A seal is provided in a ring seal of the base, where the seal is squeezed by a ring in a position.
