ELECTROSTATIC ATOMIZATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with the labor for replenishment of water and to reset an electrostatic atomization apparatus to the stable discharge state at an early stage even when empty discharge is generated. SOLUTION: The electrostatic atomization apparatus is provided with a discharge electrode 2; a counter electrode 3 opposed to this; a high voltage power source part 4 for applying a high voltage between both electrodes; a cooling means 5 for cooling the discharge electrode to generate water on the discharge electrode part based on a moisture content in the air; and a control means C for monitoring the discharge state between both electrodes and maintaining the required discharge state. The control means C temporarily enhances a cooling ability of the cooling means 5 at detection of empty discharge based on a discharge current. Water for electrostatically atomizing is ensured on the discharge electrode as condensed water, resetting from the empty discharge state to normal discharge is expedited and generation of ozone is suppressed.
