PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner not only capable of securing comfortability and safety in an aspect of health in a cooling operation and a dehumidifying operation, but also capable of uniforming a temperature distribution and an ion concentration distribution over the whole room. SOLUTION: When conditioned air is moved out upwards, an opening and closing plate 15 and a wind guide plate 26 connected each other is moved to a position to open a flowing out port upper part 5b and to project the wind guide plate 26 outward from a flowing out port 5, and the conditioned air is prevented from flowing along a front panel 3 by the Coanda effect. A wind velocity is thereby restrained from getting low by viscosity, and the conditioned air is propagated along a ceiling and a wall face to reach all the corners of the room.
