PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display device and an information display method for visually displaying the amount of features of a retrieved target, when displaying annotation information, in response to the collation of the target requested by a user. SOLUTION: The information display device is provided with an imaging means for photographing an object to generate imaging data; a retrieval means for retrieving the amount of form-like features of the object from the imaging data generated by the imaging means; a contour detection means for detecting contour, from the amount of the form-like features of the object retrieved by the retrieval means; and a display means for superimposing a form-like marker, indicating the contour detected by the contour detection means on a contour position of the object of the imaging data to display.
