PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a data transfer device, which transfers data between a plurality of units and a shared memory, from waiting so long for data processings in respective units. SOLUTION: When two units 4 and 11 simultaneously output, for example, read requests R1a and R2a, each requesting dividing part 5 and 12 divides the corresponding read request into a plurality of requests with predetermined data transfer length. For example, when the data transfer length of the read request R1a is long, the first division request of a read request R2a is executed when storing read data from a third memory 3 in a first read FIFO 8 in response to the first division request. At a unit 4 side, only when the read data are stored from the first read FIFO 8 in the first memory 1, the next division request is outputted from the first request FIFO 6.
