<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cannula without enlarging the size of the inner diameter of a cylindrical member, without limiting the flexibility of a rod of a surgical instrument, etc., and without limiting the movement of the surgical instrument at the distal end of the rod of the surgical instrument, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The cannula comprises the cylindrical member 2, and a continued slit 3 is formed from one end to the other end of the cylindrical member 2. The slit 3 constitutes a straight line parallel to the center axis of the cylindrical member 2.
