<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print a useful tint block image regardless of a difference in tint block setting information between a host computer and a printing device regarding tint block image printing. <P>SOLUTION: "Copy inhibited" is set, for example, for the tint block image on the printer side, while "COPY" is set for the tint block image as a printing prompt by a host computer PC (S6107). In this case, a display for enquiry to a user as to which tint block image should be given printing priority, is made on the UI screen of the printer. At the same time, the same display is made to the host computer PC 240.
