<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control power consumption and cooling capacity of a storage system in association with each other for reducing power consumption while maintaining the cooling capacity. <P>SOLUTION: When a disk device matching a logical volume is started, a disk system totally assesses a heat quantity generated by the disk to be started, cooling capacity of a fan, power consumption of the fan or that of the disk device, and the like, and then, decides the disk device and the fan to be started to start them. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
