PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller, wherein when abnormality is generated in either a slide or a die cushion, the position of the other is suitably controlled, and, the unsuitable increase of the power between both is prevented. SOLUTION: The controller 10 comprises: a slide control part 12 for controlling the movement of a slide 4; and a die cushion control part 14 for controlling the movement of a die cushion 6. When a first detector 16 detects the abnormality of the die cushion 6, a first transmitter 18 transmits an abnormal signal from the die cushion control part 14 to the slide control part 12. The slide control part 12, upon the receiving of the abnormal signal, moves the slide 4 to a position separated by a fixed distance from the die cushion 6, rather than the position of the slide 4 upon the receiving of the abnormal signal, and stops the same.
