PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body rear part structure capable of preventing mud from adhering to a rear window by forming a recessed part at an upper edge central part of a rear hatch in this hatch back vehicle, installing a spoiler part so as to cross over the recessed part, and forming an air flow passage between the spoiler part and the recessed part, without protruding the spoiler part rearward or upward from the upper edge part of the rear hatch, hence without degrading the external appearance in the vehicle rear edge part. SOLUTION: This vehicle body rear part structure for the hatch back vehicle 1 having the spoiler part 25 at the upper edge part of the rear hatch 3 having the rear window 18, is provided with the rear hatch upper edge recessed part 22 formed at the central part in the vehicle cross direction in the upper edge of the rear hatch 3 so as to be lower than the vehicle cross-direction outer side parts 20, 21. Both the edge parts of the spoiler part 25 are fixed at the rear hatch 3 upper edge part so that the roughly plate-shaped spoiler part 25 extending in the vehicle cross direction may cross over the rear hatch upper edge recessed part 22, and the air flow passage 26 is formed between the spoiler part 25 and the rear hatch upper edge recessed part 22.
