PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-slice X-ray CT apparatus adopting an X-ray detector without requiring a highly accurate positioning and machining accuracy. SOLUTION: The channel-directional width W2 of a substrate 8 mounted with a photodetecting element array 7 outputting an electric signal according to the intensity of an X-ray 4 transmitting a subject 15 is defined smaller than the channel-directional width W1 of the photodetecting element array 7, so that even if the positioning accuracy of the photodetecting element array 7 relative to the substrate 8 is slightly poor, both sides of the substrate 8 are prevented from projecting further from both side faces of the photodetecting element array 7. This constitution eliminates highly accurately positioning of the photodetecting element array 7 in the channel direction of the substrate 8 and eliminates the highly accurate finishing of both sides of the substrate 8 to reduce the manufacturing cost.
