PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for treating liquid-waste containing a hexavalent chromium ion, wherein the deterioration of the liquid-waste precessing efficiency can be restrained. SOLUTION: The method for treating the liquid-waste containing the hexavalent chromium ion comprises a step of bringing the liquid-waste containing the hexavalent chromium ion into contact with a reducing member formed by using a metal having the ionization tendency larger than that of the hexavalent chromium ion to ionize the metal and reduce the hexavalent chromium ion in the liquid-waste into a trivalent chromium ion. The liquid-waste containing the hexavalent chromium ion is brought into contact with the vibrated reducing member to reduce the hexavalent chromium ion in the liquid-waste into the trivalent chromium ion.
