<p>A movable part is moved in a straight line by linear drive means. The movable part is provided with a sensor that scans a light and dark pattern on a light and dark patterned member. Also, the sensor outputs an output signal having a magnitude corresponding to the grayscale of the light and dark in the light and dark pattern. Cutting means controls the amount of cut of a tool on a work piece in accordance with the magnitude of the output signal from the sensor, to process the work piece. In this way the work piece is processed in accordance with the light and dark pattern.</p> |
